The beauty is in the firing.
Made once a year, these cups are fired in a traditional wood-burning climbing kiln. Heat, flame and the artisan's work create subtle variations that cannot be repeated exactly. Those differences are part of the pleasure of choosing handmade pottery.
Enjoy it with brewed green tea or freshly prepared matcha. For matcha, whisk in a separate bowl, then pour into your teacup and take your time.
