Making Cold Brew Green Tea

Making Cold Brew Green Tea

There isn't a set method for making cold brew green tea. Essentially, it's about experimentation and creativity. While there are dedicated cold brew green tea bags available in the market, you can easily make it using loose leaf green tea at home.

Using Cold Brew Green Tea Bags:

Using a Cold Water Pitcher: Pour approximately 500ml of cold water per tea bag (5g), place them in a cold water pitcher, and refrigerate. After about 15 minutes, remove the tea bags and enjoy your cold brew. Adding ice to the pitcher will expedite the chilling process.

For the Busy Ones: Prepare the cold water pitcher with tea bags before bedtime and remove the bags the next morning for a hassle-free cold brew experience.

Ensure to store the prepared cold tea in the refrigerator to maintain its freshness and flavor.

Using Loose Leaf Tea:

Using Cold Water: Add slightly more tea leaves than usual (about 2-3 tablespoons per person) into a teapot, and slowly pour enough cold water to cover the leaves. Let it steep for 4-5 minutes, then pour into glasses and enjoy.

For Immediate Consumption: Use a bit more tea leaves than usual (around 2 tablespoons per person) in a teapot, pour hot water over the leaves, let it sit for about 30 seconds, then add ice to the teapot until it's almost full. Pour into glasses after about 30 seconds, rotating the teapot to mix, and serve.

Using a Blender: For a unique twist, blend 5-10g of tea leaves with 200ml of water for 4-5 minutes. Strain the mixture through cloth to obtain a green-yellow liquid. Dilute to taste, add ice, and enjoy as a refreshing beverage. Store any leftover juice in the refrigerator and consume promptly.
